First, congratulations on your successful procedure and your wise decision to use a Caromed compression garment to help you recover beautifully!
Girdles for women are designed for longer, more comfortable wear during your recovery period. Compression garments, when worn daily, can lose their effectiveness if they are not cared for properly. You want to ensure that they are clean to last for your entire recovery period. Regular washing can not only clean the garments, but help them retain their elasticity and ensure their effectiveness. However, it is vitally important to take great care in washing them.
I’ve Just Had a (Fill In the Procedure)! How Do I Care for My Compression Garment?
First be sure to use a mild detergent – the kind you would use on your most delicate fabrics. Make sure that your detergent has no added fabric softeners or bleach products. Caromed recommends that you hand wash your Caromed garment in lukewarm water with mild soap or detergent, then air dry. To remove bloodstains, simply soak your garment in a basin of cool water to which 1/4 cup of peroxide has been added. Then launder and let air-dry. Also, do not dry your compression garments out in the direct sunlight because the UV rays can cause some damage to the elastic fibers. If you must use a dryer, use the tumble dry on a cool setting.
Girdles for Women Need Special Care
Please do not dry your girdle in an electric or gas dryer as this may ruin the garment.
TIP: MOST WOMEN REQUIRE TWO GARMENTS IN ORDER TO HAVE A FRESHLY LAUNDERED ONE AVAILABLE. BUY TWO – ONE TO WEAR, ONE TO WASH
